Save The Rails - Season #2: Lynton & Barnstaple Railway
Season 2 of Save The Rails brought us to North Devon, UK – home of the legendary Lynton & Barnstaple Railway.
This historic narrow-gauge line first opened in 1898 and, thanks to a passionate community of volunteers, is being rebuilt piece by piece after decades of closure. Their dedication even brought back Lyn, a faithful new-build replica of the original Baldwin locomotive, lovingly recreated in 2017.
Through Save The Rails, TrainStation players helped support this incredible volunteer-driven effort to keep British steam heritage alive.

How Save The Rails Works
Each season brings a new opportunity for players to support real railway preservation through special charity packs in TrainStation 2 and TrainStation 3.
Here’s how the initiative works:
-
We partner with a heritage railway in need of support.
-
Our team designs a unique in-game locomotive inspired by the railway.
-
The locomotive is included in a limited-time charity pack in TS2 or TS3.
-
All proceeds from these packs go directly to the real railway.
Through your gameplay, real locomotives and historic lines receive vital help.

Season 2 – Thank You to Our Community
The charity action for this season has now finished, and we are preparing a full report. Once we have the final numbers from the packs, we will share them with you.
A huge thank you to all our players — your support means the world to the volunteers at the Lynton & Barnstaple Railway and helps keep this historic line alive for generations to come. 🚂💖
What’s Next?
