TrainStation Players Contributed Over $51,000 to the National Museum of Railroad History & Innovation
Sometimes, a game can do more than entertain. Sometimes, it can bring train enthusiasts together to support something they truly care about.
Thanks to the incredible generosity of the TrainStation community, players from around the world have contributed over $51,000 for the to the National Museum of Railroad History and Innovation, formerly the B&O Railroad Museum in Baltimore, USA, through the latest season of our Save The Rails initiative. During the campaign, the museum also entered an exciting new chapter, becoming the National Museum of Railroad History & Innovation, reflecting its growing mission to tell the story of America through the lens of the railroad while preserving the past, celebrating the present and inspiring the possible. The Museum is located on the historic site of the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad, American’s first common carrier railroad, and will always honor the B&O Railroad.

Supporting the Birthplace of American Railroading
The National Museum of Railroad History & Innovation, formerly the B&O Railroad Museum, stands on the historic birthplace of American railroading and is home to one of the world’s most significant collections of historic locomotives and rolling stock. The Museum has the most comprehensive set of 19th century locomotives in the United States and is home to over 200 pieces of rolling stock. Through its exhibitions, restoration work, educational programs, and dedicated volunteers, the museum ensures that generations to come can continue experiencing the rich history of rail transport and discover its present and future technologies.
One of the most inspiring stories we discovered during this partnership was that of the American Freedom Train No. 1. After carrying priceless national treasures across all 48 contiguous states during America’s Bicentennial celebrations, the locomotive was damaged in a fire in 1979 then donated to the museum. Thanks to the dedication of restoration teams and supporters, his iconic locomotive has been cosmetically restored with care and today proudly stands once again as a symbol of American railroad history.
Knowing that our community has now become part of that ongoing story makes this partnership especially meaningful.

A Community Making a Real Difference
Every Charity Pack purchased in TrainStation 2 and TrainStation 3 represented much more than an in-game reward. It became a direct contribution to the National Museum of Railroad History & Innovation, formerly the B&O Railroad Museum, supporting restoration projects, educational programs, and the preservation of its remarkable railway collection.
Thousands of players chose to support the museum, showing that the TrainStation community is united not only by a passion for collecting trains but also by a shared appreciation for the stories, engineering, and people that make railways so special.
To every player who participated:
